GAIA, a multidisciplinary start-up, embarked on an unprecedented collaboration with Omdena to prototype a groundbreaking concept of conscious & compassion AI. The transformative partnership stems from the inaugural Virtual Florence meeting held in iMind Institute in May 2022. The event brought together leading experts from around the world to delve into the future of artificial intelligence. Scientists, entrepreneurs, activists and philosophers contributed their unique perspectives, sparking an extraordinary brainstorming session. Through this collaborative exchange of knowledge, the foundational principles and project guidelines of Collaboration, Compassion and Consciousness (3C) were crystallized. The 3C concept forms the bedrock of the partnership, emphasizing the power of collective intelligence in the global efforts. By uniting diverse expertise and perspectives GAIA pushes the boundaries of AI and creates a paradigm shift in its development.

Empowering AI with empathy: Hanson Robotics joins forces with GAIA
The project’s objective is to gather and validate selected research and frameworks that have been previously developed for Compassion AI. The initial efforts will focus on building awareness of artificial intelligence, with Omdena and Hanson Robotics partnering with GAIA to oversee the entire project. The organization will adopt a global collaborative model involving experts from over 100 countries. 50 engineers will delve into the current landscape of contemporary AI, testing and experimenting to implement the most promising algorithms. During 8 weeks problem scoping, data collection and modeling for deployment will be covered. The plans involve leveraging the potential of Sophia, Hanson Robotics’ most advanced human-like robot created by David Hanson, GAIA co-founder.
This will allow participants to test their revolutionary work on the most advanced robot that closely resembles humans. The “Building Conscious AI for Sophia Robot” project will commence on July 7th and applications are now open for participation. GAIA and Omdena international team under the guidance of Hanson’s founder will help AI innovators to develop their expertise in designing empathetic AI.
