– The future is inextricably linked to technology, both socially, economically, and climatically. This is especially important for young people, who can be helped to solve key problems related to their future, such as inequality or global warming. On the other hand, if misdirected – it can exacerbate such problems. The discussion we will have with our guests, will be extremely interesting and important for the future of the young generation – says Piotr Mazurek, Government Plenipotentiary for Youth Policy, Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.
The event will be a unique opportunity to clash opinions of advisors from the largest international organizations and governments. Among others, those will be Robert Kroplewski – Plenipotentiary of the Minister of Digital Affairs for the Information Society, Polish expert on ethical AI in OECD, European Commission and UNESCO and Sally Radwan – Advisor to the Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Egypt as well as representatives of the United Nations.
The event will be opened by Krzysztof Szubert, Republic of Poland Plenipotentiary for UN IGF 2021, Piotr Mazurek, Government Plenipotentiary for Youth Policy, and… Sophia the Robot, the most famous robot in the world, holding Saudi Arabian citizenship.
Get involved in the global movement
– The information society has just awakened from being an economic source of information to being an information society. For this conversion to occur, it is not enough just to exchange information, but it is crucial to practice values, with care and responsibility for the human condition, its physical and psychological integrity, and its own and collective development by preserving the environment as a heritage for future generations. Here comes the central issue of the ethical coexistence of technology, the Internet, and the interface between man and machine in building a community of peace – says Robert Kroplewski.
– Finding a framework where machines understand and use morality is equal to the new Copernican revolution and will result in re-emergence of human-centric approach: moving from anthropocentrism to oneness will humanize processes, leave the paradigm of efficiency and bring the human beings to caring for man and nature. Paradoxically, we have moved away from nature so much that in order to return, we need something that has Artificial in its name – adds Julian Romuald Żelaznowski, Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister Prof. Piotr Gliński and coordinator of the International Affairs Team within the RDzMP.
During the event members of Youth IGF Poland will invite participants to get involved in the global Youth IGF movement. – It will be possible this autumn, when together with enthusiasts from all over the world we will create proposals for changes and government projects in the field of technology and the Internet, says Emilia Zalewska, a member of the Youth IGF Poland Steering Committee.
