He has extensive experience in social and political activity. After a period of activity in student organisations, he became active in local government in the Wrocław City Council where he held the position of Chairman of the Committee for Economic Initiatives. In 2005-2011, as a Senator of the Republic of Poland, he held the position of the Head of the Economy Committee and participated in the work of the European Union Committee.
